The new Draft mode is just around the corner, as we approach the new version release we will take a look at the new tournament mode. In this mode players are able to build a deck of 45 cards from a limited set of cards, from Base Set 2 to Time of Renewal. Once a player has built their deck they can face off against other Draft players to compete for rewards. Just like with the Jackpot and Swiss tournaments, the Draft will be available once unlocked at the Squire rank. Entry costs 1 tournament ticket. From the tournament screen you can see your Draft Mode progress, as well as rewards available, we’ll talk about rewards later in the article. Deck BuildingUpon entering the Draft Tournament, you must build a deck. Your first pick will be the hero, this will dictate what cards you will find in your future picks. After picking your hero, you will be presented with the pools of cards that will build up your deck. In addition to your active pick row, you receive a preview of upcoming picks, use these previews to plan your picks and make your decisions.To help you with your decisions, we display various stats for the cards picked so far. With your final pick you will be move to the next phase of deck building. At this point you will have 50 cards, a valid Drafting deck requires 45 cards; 40 Normal cards, 4 Event cards, and 1 Hero card, leaving 5 for your sideboard. Between your matches you can tweak your deck, swapping out cards for those in your sideboard. When you’re happy, confirm your deck and battle other Draft players! The DraftMatches in Draft mode progress just like normal games, there is no time limit. For each game you will receive the usual XP and Gold you would expect in a Quick Game.Between games you will find the lobby, you can see the current progress of your Draft tournament, your current rewards as well as apply XP and Gold boosts for your next match. You can even tweak your deck from this screen. At any point while in the lobby you can take a break from playing in Draft mode to compete in other game modes. Returning to your Draft tournament from the Tournament screen. After achieving 10 victories in Draft mode you will complete your tournament. The tournament ends early if you lose 3 times. Any rewards earned will be given, and if you unlocked the Buyout you will be given the option to buy cards from your pool. RewardsEvery tournament has rewards and prizes, Draft mode is no different. In Draft mode, the better you do the greater the prizes. After two wins you will unlock the Buyout option for your card pool. As well as the Buyout option you will receive a sizeable gold payout on top of those earned in the games. Your final rewards for competing increase with the more victories you achieve. Prizes range from Base Set 2 packs to Time of Renewal Super packs, and a barrel of gold!We look forward to playing with you in the new Draft Mode when it arrives.
