1. Walkthrough overview

Sepia Tears is a visual novel where you play a boy named Mark. Mark has a memory he wishes to forget as much he can, but a girl called Myra appears to unearth it. Another visual novel by Scarlet String Studios, this is a romance visual novel that offers five separate Steam achievements. Here's how to get those five achievements.

2. General hints and tips

As with most visual novels, you can either skip through the entirety of this story for a quick completion or read through the whole story. Skipping through the story will give you a 0-1 hour completion time, whereas reading it will be just under or just over an hour considering how quickly you read.

3. Story walkthrough

The first achievement able to be picked up in Sepia Tears is Take a Peek. This achievement is unlockable on Day 2. When you visit Lukas with Rin, you will look at his computer and be asked whether to take a look or not. Select “I’m pretty damn curious”, and the achievement will pop.

On Day 5 with Rin and Lukas, you will end up with a choice on whether to “Genefluct” or not to. Choosing not to Genefluct will give you the bad ending of the game, and you will need to replay until you select genefluct.

On Day 6, when you are with Lillian at the park, create save 1 when she sits on the swing. It doesn’t matter whether you choose to confess to her or not.

If you select confess, get the achievement and then reload and choose not to confess. If you choose not to confess, reload and select confess to get both achievements.

On Day 7, you and Myra will go ice skating, but she will run away and you will have to chase after her. Make the following choices in order to earn the Stand Up achievement:

- Rooftop

- Stand Up

- The Hill

Back on the main menu, there will now be an option to the left of Quit to click on Myra’s Diary. Go through the one day story and you will earn the achievement First of January.
