At the end of Act 2 you will be transported back outside the school from the start of the game. Instead of going inside the school to confront the final boss, you want to leave through the gates outside. This will trigger the alternate ending. The game should have auto-saved right outside the school so you can load that up and proceed to finish the game as normal.
